Well, I've lived on the Western Slope for almost 15 years - got fortunate when I first bought a house here and it faced south. Our present house also faces south. So in the 15 winters I have been here I've never had the need for a snow shovel. So much for that! I might never use it again, but I now have a snow shovel. I hate snow shoveling. Come to think of it, I'm not too fond of snow either. The stuff is too cold and messy. When we moved here from Wisconsin, we had all sorts of "winter gear." Down jackets. Boots. Gloves. Hats. We left our snow blower in Wisconsin. I went skiing a few times - and discovered that I don't need any of the winter gear - skiing is a sport I just wasn't cut out for (I could fall down pretty well - but couldn't figure out how to get back up.) Water skiing is so much more fun (kind of funny coming from a guy who can't tread water...) Now I've gone and bought a snow shovel. It must be due to global warming.
